When Universal first came to Orlando, it offered Universal Studios Florida. Folks coming to town to visit Disney World could set aside one day from their itinerary and tour the movie-themed park. Now, Universal Orlando is a true destination resort in its own right and includes a second theme park, Islands of Adventure, the wonderful Volcano Bay water park, the CityWalk entertainment, shopping, and dining district, and a bunch of hotels. (A third theme park, Epic Universe is now under construction.) If you are thinking about coming to Florida for a theme park getaway, you’ll need to do some homework in advance and discover all that awaits.
