When Disney California Adventure launched Soarin’ Over California, it established a new category of themed attractions: the flying theater. There have been a number of rides that incorporate the concept, including some standalone ones in major tourist areas. The latest flying theater, RiseNY, recently opened in Manhattan. In addition to the ride, which takes guests on a flight above New York City’s famed skyline and sights, the attraction includes an extensive pre-show with compelling exhibits and other features.
