This Roller Coaster Day, consider riding the rails of some of the oldest thrill machines still operating in the U.S. There are 14 vintage rides which date back to the 1920s or earlier. And lest you think they are little more than antique curiosities, most of them hold up remarkably well and still offer surprisingly potent rides. Among the best of the bunch are three wonderful woodies at Kennywood in Pennsylvania, Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in California, Wild One at Six Flags America in Maryland, and the one and only Coney Island Cyclone in New York.
